Call for proposals for Leonardo Session at 2012 US college art association

Dear Colleagues,

The Leonardo Art and Education Forum (LEAF) is seeking proposals for the CAA 2012 two-and-one half hour
session in connection with its Annual Conference, to be held February 22–25 in Los Angeles in 2012. (The date
is correct – CAA plans well ahead for this.) The deadline for proposals to LEAF is two weeks from now on August 20, 2010.

CAA guidelines state, “Chairs develop sessions in a manner that is appropriate to the topics and participants
of their sessions. A characteristic, though certainly not standard, format includes four or five presentations of twenty
minutes each, amplified by audience participation or by a discussant’s commentary. Other forms of presentation
are encouraged.” At this stage we are seeking a proposed topic and format, including suggestions of speakers on a topic.

People interested in proposing and (co)chairing a panel or alternative format which deals with current issues,
practices, topics, or problems relevant to the intersections of art, science, and technology are invited to send an
abstract (no more than 300 words) and a brief curriculum vita to me by August 25th at:

Session proposals (including several received previously, which could not be accommodated) will be reviewed by
LEAF; the selected entry will be submitted to CAA by September 1. If the proposed session is accepted by CAA,
the call for papers will be published by the College Art Association and announced via the LEAF listserv.
